Timescapes is an imaginative, virtual-reality experience, building a diverse series of fully explorable environments and engaging the user in lifelong learning. The user is immersed within a period and can investigate historical, cultural and social themes. The environment can be explored in a number of ways, such as "living memory" which encourages user generated content, "talk history" which creates online communities with similar interests and "history detectives", which encourages users to learn about historical dwellings and artefacts.
